Since April 2013, the Institute of Power Plant Engineering and Heat Transfer has been working on energy-related topics such as the generation, storage and conversion of electricity and heat.

The mechanisms of heat transfer are fundamental for many technical applications. The engineering methods derived from them are mainly used in power and process engineering, but also in any field where heating or cooling is required or to be avoided.

Power plant engineering itself is undergoing fundamental changes in Germany in the course of the energy transition. Our institute is actively involved in solving the associated challenges.
