Institute of Power Plant Engineering and Heat Transfer

Welcome to the website of the Institute of Power Plant Engineering and Heat Transfer (IKW) at Leibniz University Hannover. Eleven employees in science, technology and administration are researching and working at the institute.

In teaching, the IKW offers students training in the field of power plant engineering and heat transfer in the form of lectures and practical project work. In research, the IKW conducts basic and application-oriented research together with national and international partners from universities and industry. The IKW is successfully active in the field of energy technology such as power and heat generation, storage and conversion, the mechanisms of heat transfer and power plant engineering.

The director of the institute is Prof. Dr.-Ing. Roland Scharf.
