Process modeling of power plants

© IKW

One focus of the Institute of Power Plant Engineering and Heat Transfer is the modeling and optimization of power plant processes. Furthermore, processes such as district heat extraction from power plants and ORC systems are also modeled. For this purpose different tools like Ebsilon Professional or Dymola/Modelica with the power plant component library ClaRa are used.

Steady-state and transient processes are investigated, with a particular focus on the flexibilization of power plants aimed at in the context of the energy transition as well as a more efficient and thus more sustainable operation of the plants.
