The module teaches the methodical approach to projects as they occur in industry.

Module description

Teaching language

All classes of the module are held in German.

After successful completion of the module, students will be able to

  • work on concrete tasks using project management methods,
  • design a heat exchanger to meet its thermodynamic requirements,
  • calculate the strength of a heat exchanger,
  • include other framework conditions with high practical relevance (e.g. assembly conditions, budget, handling of resources, environmental compatibility, legal requirements and teamwork) in the planning of a project and improve the course of industrial projects through the targeted application of methodical and social competences.

Content:

  • Lectures on the methodological approach to a project
  • Content lectures on heat exchanger design
  • Independent design of a heat exchanger
  • Construction of the design and recalculation with regard to its requirements for operation, maintenance and installation
  • Final presentation and submission of the complete design as a report
